Product Safety

At Country & Cove we take product safety very seriously - here's a guide to some important information regarding our product range.

We always recommend that you retain packaging for any of our products, until you are satisfied that the item is suitable and safe to use for its intended purpose.

All products should be kept away from children and pets at all times, they are intended for use by adults only.

Batch Numbers: All of our products have a batch number, printed on the safety label adhered to the base of the container. This batch number is written in a particular way, allowing us to find information about how we made your product and which ingredients were used.

For example, the barcode 926323CAN would mean: Fragrance 9, Manufactured on the 263rd day of 2023 and the product is a CANDLE. This batch number correlates with a particular safety file on our system, allowing us to find the manufacturer of the ingredients and materials, should we need to for the purpose of product recalls etc.

Scented Candle Safety: Please ensure you read the allergen list, printed on the box of the candle or on the base of the product before use. Candles should not be burned for more than 4 consecutive hours. All of our products are intended for use by adults only, which means they should be kept well away from children and pets at all times. Please ensure you extinguish a candle fully, before placing the lid on or before leaving the candle unattended. Please be aware of perfume sensitivity, some people are more sensitive to certain aromas than others - this is why you should double check the allergen list printed on the outer packaging.

If you are concerned about things like perfume sensitivity or allergens, please contact us BEFORE purchasing for a complete breakdown of the fragrance used in your product.

Please ensure you keep scented candles well away from fabrics, curtains and plastics such as TV's or Laptops - scented candles can produce a surprising amount of heat, which may damage items or cause a fire hazard.

Dispose of your scented candles at end of life following the guidelines from your local recycling centre.

Reed Diffuser Safety: Reed diffuser oils are hazardous and diffusers should be kept well away from children and pets at all times. Reed diffuser oils can be flammable, so we recommend keeping reed diffusers away from direct sunlight and well away from radiators or scented candles/wax burners etc. NEVER light diffuser reeds, as this is highly dangerous!

Reed diffuser oil can also damage painted, plastic or wooden surfaces, as the oil is mildly corrosive. Any spillages should be quickly mopped up with a damp cleaning cloth.

When turning or replacing diffuser reeds, we recommend wearing gloves or washing your hands with warm water and soap thoroughly after doing so.

Dispose of your reed diffusers at end of life following the guidelines from your local recycling centre. DO NOT pour diffuser oils down the sink or toilet, as this may damage property and can cause a hazard.
